Former US Spy Chief: Get Ready for ‘Cyber 9/11

Mc Connell (the former director of US national security agency) has broke a shocking news for Americans that US could be facing a massive cyber attack in some time which could be equally harmful to 9/11 incident. According to Connell, the attack could down all the significant U.S. sites at once and an economic downturn may occur which might be as serious as the 9/11 incident.

The sites that he indicated belonged to  the banking system, essential infrastructure and power grid. All these are essentials for an economy and if data regarding all  these is obtained the economy could worst situations of all what could it face. The former spy chief warned the current national security team to get ready for the attack and do whatever the best they can do to combat it in these words:

“We have had our 9/11 warning. Are we going to wait for the cyber equivalent of the collapse of the World Trade Centers?” McConnell said

Connell also referred to a recent attack laid by the hackers on worldwide banks and firm which include the attack on Saudi Arabian oil companies. In which 2/3 od the company’s computer were attacked and the company went useless. The experts said it was an attack laid by an Iranian hacker or group who bought in the a virus into the system and they got worthless. Another gas company was hacked by probably same or some other Iranian group which belong to Qatar. The reason behind the referring of these incidents is to make the US national security get alarmed because Connell believed some Iranian group could be involved in such a monstrous attack on US sites. Connell also drew a picture of how it could all go within if the attack takes place:

“All of a sudden, the power doesn’t work, there’s no way you can get money, you can’t get out of town, you can’t get online, and banking, as a function to make the world work, starts to not be reliable,” McConnell said. “Now, that is a cyber-Pearl Harbor, and it is achievable.
