Powerful DDoS attack by Ukrainian hackers takes down NATO and its Cyber Defence Centre Server

A group of Ukrainian hackers going with the handle of CyberBerkut has taken down the official website of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) along with its Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.

Hackers launched a DDoS-attack on NATO main web server (www.nato.int), NATO Parliamentary Assembly (www.nato-pa.int) and NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence. 

Hackers explained that reason for targeting NATO was the online civil unrest in Ukraine.

It has been over 18 hours since the hackers targeted NATO server. However, at the time of publishing this article, all 3 NATO websites were down and displaying error messages.
