When Facebook announced its Libra cryptocurrency back in June, it drew a lot of attention and criticism at the same time. On one hand, the US lawmakers see it as a threat and they want to halt the project. But on the other hand, several developers are interested in it — leading to the rise of clones on GitHub.
Now developers at Loom are going to launch a brand new online course called CryptoZombies — to teach the basics of Facebook’s Libra cryptocurrency and how to use the source code of the project.
The CryptoZombies tutorial is completely free and open source. It will give coders a basic introduction on how Libra’s blockchain works.

CryptoZombies aims at bringing more coders to Facebook’s Libra
Matthew Campbell, CEO at Loom, explains why it’s necessary to teach more developers how distributed ledger technology (DLT) works.
“We went to a Libra meetup in Bangkok and 100 developers came out and none of them were blockchain people.”
This stresses the fact that not many people know about it and it is precisely why they should learn it before anyone else.
The Loom Network operates a Platform as a Service (PaaS) based on Ethereum blockchain. It allows developers to build and deploy decentralized applications (dApps) and the team mainly focuses on creating solutions for the gaming industry.

Loom says that creating high-quality and interactive blockchain-powered games will encourage more people to learn about cryptocurrencies.
The team says, “we’re going to have you make a little game, and you’re going to have a little payment system in the game.”
Libra has been working on the project’s payment system for quite some time and the source code (created so far) is available for developers to experiment with. Libra’s testnet can be used to issue tokens.
Since Libra’s virtual machine is still under development, so there are several features that cannot be accessed right now. But it is better to familiarize oneself with the platform as soon as possible.
Having said that, there are chances that Facebook’s cryptocurrency project might not even see the light of the day because of surrounding controversies and concerns of authorities across the world.
