Calling the tech industry’s talk of innovation bullshi*t, he said that industry’s “celebration of innovations” is self-congratulatory. “Ninety-nine per cent of it is to get the work done,” he added.
Linus Torvalds is known for creating the world’s most successful open source project, Linux. Over the years, Linux has grown to become the backbone of the internet, attracting numerous kernel developers. So, creating such successful projects must be a result of tons of innovation, right?
Well, contrary to what you might believe, Linus doesn’t think so. He thinks that the technology industry’s “celebration of innovations” is self-righteous and self-serving.

Linus said this at the Open Source Leadership Summit of the Linux Foundation, The Register reports. He further said that the real work is in the details and “all that hype isn’t where the real work is.”
Talking about his own child, Linux, he said that the kernel maintainers have organized the code and its flow to make things smoother. He called Linux a social project that’s all about technology.
