Short Bytes: The ISIS hackers, calling themselves the “Islamic State Cyber Army,” have used Twitter to post the names and addresses of employees of the FBI, the CIA, the National Guard, the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency etc. The Twitter accounts posting these threats have now been suspended.
According to Vocative, the hackers, calling themselves the “Islamic State Cyber Army,” posted the names and addresses of employees of the FBI, the CIA, the National Guard, the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, the National Counterterrorism Center, and other government agencies.
Apart from those who served in the US, ISIS hackers posted the U.S. military personnel who served in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar in the past.
This list was posted on Saturday and Sunday, and hackers called this a retaliation of the recent Anonymous attack that unmasked the Twitter accounts of ISIS and online forums.
“We will spy on you and leak your (information) and take your money. Yours and your families’ information and secrets are not secure anymore,” ISIS said in a video uploaded on a now-suspended Twitter account.
On another Twitter account, the “hackers of the Islamic States” said, “expect us tomorrow at 7 p.m Mecca time.”
It should be noted that in the wake of Paris attacks, the hacktivist group Anonymous has launched a series on cyberattacks on ISIS Twitter accounts and online forums. In response, ISIS has called these activities futile and tagged the Anonymous hackers as idiots.
