Short Bytes: Hacking group OurMine has now targetted Jack Dorsey and Marissa Mayer. OurMine recently hacked their Twitter accounts and posted messages on their profile. OurMine has triggered the frequency of its operations in the recent times and targeting multiple high-profile tech CEOs and celebrities.
Known as OurMine, this hacking trio appeared to breach the Twitter accounts and get an access to Jack Dorsey’s Vine profile. From there, they were able to post content on Dorsey’s Twitter account.
After attacking Dorsey, the hacker compromised the Twitter account of Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. From both the hacked accounts, the notorious hackers posted the same message that said — “Hey, its OurMine, we are testing your security.”
Dorsey’s message was accompanied with a link to OurMine’s website and a video that displayed OurMine’s name and an image. However, this tweet was deleted from Dorsey’s Twitter profile in less than an hour.
In the recent times, we have seen a rise in the activities of the Saudi hacking group OurMine. Over the course of past few months, this group has shifted its attention from celebrities to high-profile CEOs.
Just like the Lizard Squad, Anonymous, or LulzSec, OurMine is slowly making a name for itself. The previously hacked CEOs include Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, and Oculus Rift CEO Brendan Iribe.
The other celebrities that were targetted in previous attacks include the likes of David Guetta, Channing Tatum, Lana Del Rey, Drake, Kylie Jenner, and Pewdiepie.
The group has constantly attacked the big-profile names by taking help from the recent mega data breaches. The hackers often use these weakly hashed passwords and get access to these accounts.
