You might know of Google Chrome 68 for labeling non-HTTPS websites as “not secure.” But there is a lot more than Google has shipped with the latest version of Google Chrome.
Chrome 68 now comes with a useful feature for the humans who love emojis. The emoji panel is currently an experimental feature but you can enable it and give it a try, thanks to Chrome flags.
To turn on the new Chrome emoji panel, follow the steps:
- Go to chrome://flags.
- Using the search bar, find the Emoji Context Menu flag. This Chrome flag is available for Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Set it to Enabled and restart Google Chrome when prompted.
Now, in any text field in Google Chrome, right-click to find the Emoji picker option in the context menu.
By appearance, it seems it’s the same emoji panel that’s included in Windows 10, and Chrome is just using it. For Windows 10, you can use Windows + period (.) keyboard shortcut to get emojis.
Emojis are a great way of revealing our thoughts which can’t be said in words. That’s why the variety of emojis is increasing and their support is being added to more platforms. Recently, we learned that the Windows command line is also getting support for emojis among other features.
