Mahindra Launches Electric Hypercar Battista: Does 0-100kmph In 2 Seconds

Mahindra Group-owned Automobili Pininfarina launched its electric hypercar Battista at the ongoing 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The car is priced at $2.6 million, and it’ll hit the roads in 2020.

The company has claimed that Battista is the most powerful street-legal car in the world, so it could also be the world’s fastest. This all-electric car accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in less than two seconds, making it faster than a Formula 1 car.

In case you’re interested in more numbers, Battista has a top speed of more than 400kmph and covers 450 km on a single charge. Talking about the raw power, it boasts of a 1,900 bhp engine, which is the twice of a Formula 1 car.

It’s worth noting that India-based Mahindra Group acquired a majority stake in Pininfarina in 2015 for EUR 50 million.

Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, said that he’s betting on the luxury segment as he believes that electric cars can also be an item of luxury and passion.

At the event, Automobili Pininfarina CEO Michael Perschke further added that more than 150 Battista cars will be hand-crafted in Italy and distributed in Asia, Europe, and North America.
