In a tweet on Saturday, Elon Musk said that Tesla owners will soon be able to stream Netflix and YouTube. Before you start bouncing off the walls, the feature will only work when the car is stationary.
However, in a follow-up tweet, Elon Musk claimed that once regulators give a green signal to full self-driving, “video while moving” will be switched on.
We don’t know how regulators are looking at this tweet. Nevertheless, if video while driving comes out, it will certainly be a dream come true for Tesla owners.

As far as we know, streaming options will be available within the Tesla browser. A user will be able to stream when the car is parked and connected to the WiFi.
This could be done anywhere, such as when the car is being charged at a Tesla Power station or when you’re waiting in your car for someone. There are infinite excuses to re-watch your favorite shows on Youtube or Netflix.
Replying to a user, Elon confirmed that the new initiative is part of the upcoming V10 update. Back in June, Elon first spoke about the V10 update at E3 — the annual video games industry trade show.
At the conference, he announced that Tesla cars will receive many new gaming and entertainment options. While entertainment will include Netflix and YouTube, gaming will include a new game, Cuphead. Followed by Fallout Shelter, Beach Buggy Racing 2 and a few additional gaming controls as well.
Other than that, the V10 update will also include improvements to autopilot, stop sign recognition, and Smart Summon — a feature that allows users to summon their Teslas through the mobile app. It will also include a new feature that will read incoming text messages out loud.
In a follow-up tweet, Elon Musk confirmed that the feature will start rolling out in August or “not more than a few months” as he likes to put it.
