Asus has launched its much anticipated Asus 6Z smartphone in India at an event held in New Delhi. The smartphone features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display (2340 x 1080 resolution) with brightness up to 600 nits. To protect the smartphone from scratches, Asus has covered it with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides.
Inside the hood, Asus 6Z carries the latest Snapdragon 855 processor with and UFS 2.1 storage, unlike OnePlus 7 Pro, which comes with UFS 3.0. In terms of RAM, there are two options – 128GB and 256GB.
Running on Android 9 Pie-based ZenUI 6, the smartphone has a dedicated Smart Key for Google Assistant which can also be customized for other features. Asus also says that the ZenUI 6 uses a technology called OptiFlex which brings a stock Android-like experience to users.
Asus has promised that 6Z can be upgraded to Android Q as well as Android R.
However, the most highlighting feature of Asus 6Z is its motorized flip camera, which makes the phone notch-less. Asus 6Z’s flip camera also doubles up as a selfie camera and its rotation motor can be stopped at every 2 degrees for clicking shots from different angles.
The flip camera has a 48-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 125-degree field of view. Some of the additional features of the camera are Laser AF assist, Dual LED Flash, Super Night Mode, and HDR Enhanced mode. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on Asus 6Z.
On the battery front, Asus has packed a massive 5000mAh battery in 6Z which is touted to last up to 2 days. The smartphone also supports Quick Charge 4.0 for fast charging.
Asus 6Z is a Flipkart exclusive product and the 6GB/64GB variant starts at INR 31,999. For the top-end 8GB/256GB variant you’ll have to shell INR 39,999.
The smartphone will be available starting from 26 June on Flipkart.
