Elon Musk Quit OpenAI To Focus On Tesla And SpaceX

Elon Musk left OpenAI in February last year, and now we have a reason for it. The exit was due to a lot of disagreements between Musk and the OpenAI team, as suggested by a post on Twitter by Elon Musk.

The Twitter thread where Musk opened about the same suggests that the Tesla owner hasn’t been closely involved with the AI venture for more than a year and doesn’t know what is happening on the management and board front.

For those who don’t know, Elon Musk co-founded OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research group back in 2016.

Elon Musk, via another tweet, further claims, “I had to focus on solving a painfully large number of engineering & manufacturing problems at Tesla (especially) & SpaceX.

Furthermore, Elon Musk suggests that it was better for the company and him to part ways on good terms.

As a reminder, OpenAI recently came up with a new text generation software which is touted to predict the next word in a sentence and contribute to believable fake news.

However, the non-profit organization suggests that it won’t release the research paper to the public as it could be misused with malicious intent.
