It is already rumored that Microsoft is working on “Andromeda,” a foldable PC which could fit right in your pocket and a large dual-screen device referred to as “Centaurus.” However, there is no confirmation from the Redmond company as of now.
The rumors seem more concrete now as a Windows 10 Build for foldable devices has appeared online. Spotted by BuildFeed, a website that keeps a close watch on latest Windows 10 and Windows Insider build, Windows 10 build (rs_shell_devices_foldable) has surfaced from Microsoft servers.
This is a clear indicator that Microsoft is indeed working on making its operating system available on foldable devices that would be the “next big thing” in the tech world.

The newly appeared build has a version as 18313.1004 and has originated from Windows 10 19H1 development. The strings appended in the build’s name have revealed that it is the first Windows 10 SKU that will run on forthcoming foldable devices.
It remains to be seen how Microsoft will take forward its idea of powering foldable hardware with Windows 10 as Google has already announced that Android will natively support dual-screen or foldable devices.
In the aftermath of this announcement, BuildFeed has been forced to shut down due to “internal pressures” as cited by its founder Tom Hounsell. It is seen as an attempt by Microsoft in response to BuildFeed’s tweet regarding Windows 10 Build for foldables.
