Google Pixel 3 XL Catches Fire; User Shares Story On Reddit

Since Google launched its 2018 flagships, the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL, the smartphones have become prone to a number of issues. Adding to its list of glitches, a Google Pixel 3 XL recently caught fire, as reported by a user.

The Pixel 3 XL user (@Dysonborksphere), via a post on Reddit, reported the incident. The post suggests that the user left his Pixel 3 XL smartphone on the charge, which eventually began to overheat.

In order to cool down the device, the user from Toronto wished to take it out (the temperature there being -13 degrees). However, the overheating did not stop; smoke started to release from the smartphone causing the device to shut down.

Ultimately, the Google Pixel 3 XL turned red and caught fire.

As a reminder, the Google device which caught fire was a replacement of the previous model which had overheating issues.

Additionally, it is suggested that the Google Pixel 3 XL wasn’t at fault completely; the user charged the device with the old Google Pixel charger, which could have contributed to the incident.

Upon contacting the Google Support with pictures of the damaged Pixel 3 XL, the Google team got in touch with the user and will get back to him soon.

We hope Google looks into the matter and comes up with a solution for the same.
