After unveiling the 2018 flagship duo — the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL, Google is now gearing up to unveil its next-gen flagship, supposedly called the Pixel 4. Rumors and speculations have started lining up, and the recent patent tips more about the future Google smartphone.
According to a new patent filed at WIPO and a report by 91Mobiles, Google is expected to take up the completely bezel-less display trend for its purported Pixel 4 and present to us a full-screen display.
For a full edge-to-edge screen, the future smartphone could ditch the notch or the latest punch-hole screen.
However, we don’t know where exactly the selfie camera will be housed, given the full-screen design and no room for a pop-up snapper.
The images further show the rear panel of the smartphone, which resembles the predecessor models with a dual-tone finish, single-camera module, LED flash, and a fingerprint scanner.
Additionally, the volume rocker and the power on/off button are expected to rest at the left side of the device, there might a USB Type-C port at the bottom, but the smartphone could lack a 3.5mm audio jack.
Furthermore, there is no word as to which Google Pixel 4 device could adopt the patent; we assume it could be the bigger one, much like the Pixel 3 XL which came with a notch.
Just as a quick reminder, the above-mentioned information is a patent and patents don’t necessarily turn into real products.
It would be interesting to see how (if at all it happens) the patent turns out to be, marking Google’s entry into the arguably popular trend.
