Here Are The Best OnePlus 7 Pro Features You Should Know

OnePlus has launched its flagship devices for this year: the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. The unveiling was done at three simultaneous events at New York, London, and Bengaluru.

The OnePlus 7 Pro model is the ‘notchless’ model which comes with an almost bezel-less design due to its front pop-up camera. The OnePlus 7 series brings many other cool and new features, so let’s take a look at all of them.

Top features of OnePlus 7 Pro

1. Better Display

One of the most visible changes in the OnePlus 7 Pro is its 6.67 inches Fluid AMOLED display which is curved on both sides.

The phone’s display has already received an A+ quality rating from DisplayMate. This makes it one of the best quality screens available on phones and is at par with the Samsung Galaxy S10’s display.

Furthermore, the OnePlus 7 Pro’s display also has an upgraded eye protection feature owing to its ‘Safety for Eyes‘ certification and Night Mode 2.0 which efficiently filters out blue light.

The OnePlus 7 Pro’s display is also certified for viewing HDR 10+ content and the company has partnered up with Netflix for the same. The rumors about QHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate in OnePlus 7 Pro’s display are also true.

So it is the first non-gaming phone to upgrade from 60Hz to 90Hz refresh rate. This is precisely why OnePlus has been using the word ‘smooth’ in its promotion campaign — to signify the smooth experience provided by a higher display refresh rate.

2. Snapdragon 855 Processor

The biggest OnePlus 7 feature is definitely the incorporation of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor in both the models, which is a serious upgrade from the 6T models.

Qualcomm’s latest chip is available on a small number of devices as of now and it will provide a 46% higher single core and 26% higher multi-core performance over One Plus 6T.

3. Pop-up front camera

OnePlus has ditched the notch for a bezel-less display and included a pop-up front camera in the OnePlus 7 Pro model. The front snapper is rated at 16MP.

The pop-up module comes with an automatic front camera damage prevention. The module can automatically retract itself to prevent damage when it detects a fall.

Overall, the pop-up front camera looks good with the whole full-screen design (read: without a display notch) on the OnePlus 7 Pro. However, the usability of the same is something that can be commented upon only after a few days of usage.

4. Triple rear cameras

Adding to the list of “firsts” for OnePlus, the company has introduced a triple rear camera setup in the OnePlus 7 Pro model.

The triple camera was one of the major focus points for the OnePlus’ official marketing campaign and we are hoping it will be as good as it was portrayed in the teasers.

The triple camera packs a 48MP primary camera, 16MP wide-angle lens as well as an 8MP telephoto lens that brings 3x optical zoom capabilities along with it.

5. UFS 3.0 storage

OnePlus 7 Pro comes with UFS 3.0 storage which will speed up the phone by 79% over UFS 2.1. Some of its advantages include faster sequential read-write speeds, quicker app launch time, shorter game loading intervals, and faster boot.

In fact, the OnePlus 7 Pro is the first phone to be launched with UFS 3.0 storage hardware.

6. Warp Charge

OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a 4,000mAH battery and 30W Warp Charge for fast charging — the company’s proprietary tech which debuted with the OnePlus 6t McLaren Edition.

The large-sized battery coupled with the fast charging tech will offer 38% faster charging and it takes only 20 minutes to go from 0 to 48% of charge.

We were hoping to see wireless charging support for OnePlus 7 series but earlier this year, CEO Pete Lau confirmed it’s not happening.

7. Fnatic Mode for gamers and heavy users

To improve gaming performance, the OnePlus 7 Pro is equipped with a dedicated liquid cooling system along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The OnePlus also partnered with Fnatic esports company to create a Fnatic Mode to enhance the gaming experience.

The new Fnatic mode enables RAM to boost, frees up CPU cores to focus on gaming and keeps the player engaged in gameplay by disabling unimportant notifications. The upgraded 12 GB of RAM is surely enough to play any game with maximum possible frame rates.

Furthermore, the new Kyro CPU and the Adreno GPU inside the Snapdragon 855 are powerful and power efficient at the same time. This translates to better battery life without sacrificing performance.
