HTC’s blockchain smartphone dubbed the Exodus 1 now comes with support for 20 new apps. In addition to this, the smartphone is now up for grabs using real money (it was previously available in exchange for cryptocurrencies) for $699 in the US.
Known as decentralized apps or Dapps, the newly-introduced apps are available in the app store and are not owned by any specific company.
Among the 20 new Dapps, there is a Numbers Dapp which tracks users’ data and various activities and allows users to sell the data to third-party companies.
Furthermore, HTC has collaborated with Opera (which has its cryptocurrency wallet) to allow users to conduct micropayments on websites.
For those who don’t know, the HTC Exodus 1 comes with a 6-inch Quad HD+ display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. It comes equipped with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of inbuilt storage.
On the camera front, there are two cameras at the back (12MP and 16MP) along with two front-facing shooters, rated at 8MP each. The blockchain smartphone is backed by a 3,500mAh battery and has a transparent rear panel.
Additionally, the HTC Exodus 1 will soon support Bitcoin and Litecoin in addition to the Ethereum cryptocurrency.
