The ban imposed by the US on Huawei has gotten users into thinking and the company also announced yesterday that it is expecting a steep fall of around 40% in smartphone sales.
The Chinese smartphone maker company is now adopting drastic measures to ensure the sale of recently launched devices. As reported by Huawei Central, the company has promised to give a full refund to users in case apps like Facebook and Google Play Store stop working.
However, this “special warranty” is available only to the residents of the Philippines, it is clearly indicative of the fact that Huawei wants to boost consumer confidence.
As per local media, 30 dealers and partner retailers are part of this refund program. Huawei has confirmed that “it is an initiative of our distributors with our dealers.”
Huawei is worried that the ban will discourage users from buying their smartphones as Google services and apps will not be available.
Since Huawei will not be able to access Google apps and services including Android, users are skeptical about Huawei’s new OS, which is currently in the development phase, as per reports.
Offers like these could prove to be a much-needed respite for customers who are skeptical about using a Huawei smartphone.
It remains to be seen whether Huawei will roll out the refund offer to users worldwide. If that happens, it could prove to be a major boost to the turn around the predicted decline in sales.
