Maruti Suzuki And Hyundai Motors To Help Government Fight COVID-19

The leading automakers of the country, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motors are all ready to support the government in fighting COVID-19. Maruti will be assisting in the manufacturing of ventilators on a large scale, whereas Hyundai Motors will bring more testing kits for coronavirus.

Recently, there has been a 21-day lockdown in India to prevent the COVID-19 spread. However, there is a subtle increment in the number of affected cases in the country.

Well, despite the shut-down of production at Maruti’s factories, the company has taken the initiative to help the government fight this pandemic. However, the government of India had requested the automaker for help and support earlier.

Maruti Suzuki will build 10,000 ventilators in collaboration with AgVa Healthcare. AgVA healthcare is an approved manufacturer in the country.

As part of the collaboration, AgVa will provide its healthcare technology and will be responsible for the performance and proper functioning of the ventilators.

On the other hand, Maruti will use its experience to produce such a massive volume of ventilators efficiently. Also, Maruti will be taking care of quality control, supply management, and other related issues.

Maruti will be doing all these at its own expense, the company will not charge anything for the services.

In addition to this, the subsidiaries of Maruti will be providing masks and other protective equipment.

As per the sources, the production will start as soon as the company gets approval from the government.

Hyundai Motors Contribution

On the other hand, Hyundai Motors India has announced recently that the company will order kits from South Korea to test COVID-19 suspected people. As the company claims, these kits are highly precise, give accurate results, and can be used to test up to 25,000 people.

Once the kits arrive in the country, they will be distributed to the state and central government.

Apart from these automakers, if we look at the western side of the world, similar initiatives have been taken by automakers like Tesla, Ford, Fiat, and more in the US to fight against coronavirus.

It looks like both Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have followed the footsteps of the western automakers. Or, is it the government that followed the footsteps of the US in fighting COVID-19. Whatever be the case, the safety of the citizens is the priority, and as long as it’s served, it doesn’t matter whose footsteps you follow.
