Nintendo’s ‘Smaller And Cheaper Switch’ Model Is Coming This Fall: Report

There have been many rumors about Nintendo’s plans to release two new models this year. One of them being a smaller and more portable version of the Nintendo Switch.

Now, a report by Japan’s Nikkei says that the mini version of Nintendo Switch will be released by this fall and it will be followed by the release of a more powerful Nintendo Switch model.

The report mentions that the new, cheaper hybrid console will allow users to connect it to a TV via the Switch’s docking system similar to the current version of the console.

Nintendo intends to make the new device more portable and will be designed with handheld gaming in mind. It will be more affordable than its predecessor.

Talking about the rumored upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch, the report says that it will be made available later this year.

This falls in line with the Wall Street Journal’s March 2019 report, which states that the successor of Nintendo Switch will bring a design overhaul and “enhanced features targeted at avid video gamers.”

In addition to the two Switch models, Nikkei’s report also revealed that Nintendo will also release a sleep monitoring device under its “Quality of Life” project. The project was announced five years ago, but we haven’t heard about any development in the project since then.

The more affordable Nintendo Switch, as well as the upgraded variant, will be released at this year’s E3 which is scheduled for June 11.
