Nvidia Launches RTX 2060 GPU: Delivers More Power Than 1070 Ti

CES 2019 is underway, and Nvidia has unveiled its mid-tier RTX 2060 GPU, a Turin-based graphics card as a part of its RTX series that consists of RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti GPUs.

Nvidia surprised everyone by running the Battlefield V ray-tracing demo at 60 frames per second on RTX 2060 instead of powering it by their high-end graphics card.

Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang said that the budget RTX 2060 is much faster than 1070Ti and 60% faster than GTX 1060. The low-priced GPU will pave the way for “next-gen gaming for tens of millions of gamers,” according to the company.

The RTX 2060 comes with 6GB of GDDR6 memory and 240 Tensor Cores that can deliver 52 teraflops of deep learning horsepower. It will improve gaming performance through a feature known as Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS).

Packed with GeForce experience, the RTX 2060 offers easy-to-use in-game features including Nvidia Highlights, Nvidia Ansel and Nvidia Freestyle.

According to Huang, “Desktop gamers are demanding, and the RTX 2060 sets a new standard — an unbeatable price, extraordinary performance and real-time ray tracing that blurs the distinction between movies and games. This is a great moment for gamers and our industry.”

RTX 2060  has been priced at $349 and will be available on January 15th for Alienware, Acer, HP, etc. Nvidia is also offering users a chance to grab Anthem or Battlefield V free with RTX 2060 and 2070. Users can avail both the gaming titles with 2080 Ti.
