Professional Car Designer Fixes Biggest Issue With Ford Mustang Mach E

For the past few days, the Ford Mustang Mach E, the latest electric car from the American automaker, has been generating quite a lot of buzz. EV enthusiasts loved that one of the major automakers finally decided to enter the electric car market with one of their iconic brands.

On the other hand, hardcore fans of the Mustang are a little disappointed that their favorite car was made into an electric crossover SUV. However, a former professional designer, Marouane decided to give the Ford Mustang Mach-E electric car his personal touch to improve some of its features. He decided to post his version of the Mach E electric car on his YouTube Channel “TheSketchMonkey.”

According to Marouane, the design of the new Mustang doesn’t exhibit “confidence” — something the conventional Mustang is famous for. Therefore, he changed a couple of elements on the Mach E to make a little more worthy of the Mustang badge.

Ford Mustang Mach E Fixed By Professional Car Designer

According to Marouane, the design elements of the Mustang Mach E are “indistinguishable” and “not sharp.” He points out that the curved hood over the front wheel, where the charging point is present, lacks definition.

He suggested that the hood lines should look a little sharper and create a contrast with the front fender and then he proceeds on to implement this change. “This creates a muscle car look and if you’re going to create a mini SUV, these types of changes are the most important.”

Marouane then sharpened up the side skirts by implementing a “hockey stick design.” He also changed the rear end a little bit along with the headlights, front bumper, and the hood.

The end result, in my opinion, looked better than the original concept. However, the current design language of the Mustang is aimed at maximizing the efficiency of 75 kWh and 100 kWh battery, offered in the base and top model respectively.

The artist also replaced the normal wheels on the Mustang Mach E electric car with the GT wheels to make it resemble more to the iconic muscle car. According to Marouane: “Wheels are like 50% of looks, stances, and proportions of a car. The rest of the car can be a masterpiece but if you put the wrong wheels on there, it’s going to ruin the whole thing.”

Are People Loving The Mustang Mach E?

The Ford Mustang Mach E isn’t going to launch anytime before next year but several people aren’t happy with certain aspects of the car. A majority of the crowd agreed that the Ford Electric car looks great but it is disrespecting the ‘Mustang’ brand.

One of the YouTube comments on this video read, “I like the design but I just feel like it doesn’t live up to the name “Mustang.”

Another user also said something similar: “It’s a nice car but I would feel so dumb saying ‘yeah I own a Mustang’.”

While another user summed up the whole situation by saying: “They literally could’ve just called it a “Mach E” and nobody would’ve complained.”

Therefore, the general sentiment is that most people like the EV that FORD has made; they’re just not particularly thrilled that the company is using nostalgia of one of their iconic brands to gain a marketing advantage.

I agree with the designer when he says “greater risk has a greater reward” but there’s also a possibility that you will fail big as well. However, once people get over the fact that this is the new ‘Mustang,’ they’ll find that there’s a lot to like about this car.
