Samsung’s Galaxy S10 series is official and ready to ship with great pre-order responses. Due to this, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s prediction for the series has now been increased by 30%.
It is suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S10 series is now expected to ship around 40 to 45 million units in 2019, an increase from the previous prediction of 30 to 35 million units.
The Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+ will account for 85% share in the increased shipments, among the four Galaxy S10 smartphones.
Additionally, there will be a 30% to 40% rise in the sales of the Galaxy S10 series as compared to the Galaxy S9 series.
The bump-up prediction is due to the differences in features seen in the 2018 iPhone lineup and the 2019 Galaxy S10 series. The latter has reverse wireless charging, triple-camera setup, and an in-display fingerprint scanner which the former lacks.
A hike in shipments is also cited as increased demand for high-end smartphones, especially in China and growth in trade-in programs.
Furthermore, Samsung suppliers such as O-film and GIS are also likely to extract profits from the increased S10 series sales.
The high demand for new flagship smartphones could result in Samsung gaining back its position from Huawei and could prove to be a tough competition for Apple.
