Saudi & UAE Stock Exchange Websites Attacked by Israeli Hackers

Cyber heat is spreading all over the Middle East, this time Israeli hackers have attacked Saudi Arabian and UAE’s stock exchange websites yesterday on Tuesday. According to Israeli newspaper Haaretz, An Israeli hacking group by the name of IDF Hacking Team infiltrated into the Saudi stock exchange website and causing a delay to the UAE’s stock exchange website.

According to IDF Team, these attacks are actually revenge for hacking attack carried out by Nightmare hackers which took down  Israeli airline El Al’s, Tel Aviv stock exchange website and The First International Bank of Israel (FIBI)’s website Monday this week.

IDF-Team also released a statement on Pastebin for hackers attacking Israeli websites.

According to the IDF Team:

Because lame hackers from Saudi Arabia decided to launch an attack against Israeli sites such as the airport site “EL-AL” and sites of Israeli banks, today, 01/17/12.
Official stock exchange site of Saudi Arabia at the following address not be available online and is only the beginning, in addition, there may be disruption to the government’s stock exchange site at the following:
If the lame attacks from Saudi Arabia will continue, we will move to the next level which will disable these sites longer term may come to weeks or even months.
You have been warned.

 

Cyberwar from both sides is at its peak, it will be interesting to see if these hackers will get their government support or not. If hackers are backed by their government in this war, this could be the first cyber world war of its kind.
