Spotify Launched In India; Plans Start From INR 119 Per Month

After a series of delays due to tussle with Warner Music Group, Spotify has finally launched in India.

The popular music streaming platform had long due plans to venture into the Indian market, but the difficulty in reaching an agreement over the copyrights and legal battle with Warner Music was hindering the launch.

Yesterday, Spotify officially announced its launch in India. What makes Spotify for India more special is the fact that users can play any song on demand without subscribing to premium plans.

However, ads will be featured in the app and quality will be low if the user opts for the free version. Spotify has also added regional language music including popular Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu songs.

Spotify for India offers a 30 days free trial, and after that, you can purchase the subscription for INR 119 per month which roughly translates to $1.67/month.

Additionally, Spotify has provided single-day, weekly, monthly and yearly plans similar to other music streaming services. You can download Spotify for India app from Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
