Syrian Electronic Army hacks Forbes Website and Twitter account for spreading hate against Syria

The hardcore supporters of Syrian President Bashar-Al-Assad from Syrian Electronic Army have hacked the American business magazine Forbes.

As a result of hack, a story with the heading of “Hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army” was added to the list of articles written by Forbes’ Travis Bradberry, Matthew Herper, Andy Greenberg, John Dobosz, Steve Forbes (the chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media).

A screenshot released by SEA shows it has WordPress admin access to Forbes’ website, which is not surprising as SEA has done it quite often in past.

Another screenshot shows a story entitled as “Hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army”:

Syrian Electronic Army also took over the official Twitter account of Forbes and its employees: @ForbesTech, @samsharf, @TheAlexKnapp and left several tweets in following words:

  • “Syrian Electronic Army Was Here”.

The hackers also tweeted that they have not harmed the site but only added an article and reason for targeting Forbes was their article against Syria which was based on hate and lies.

Link of targeted site along with its mirror is available below:

At the time of publishing this article, it seemed that hacked site and Twitter accounts were restored to its respective owners.

UPDATE: According a tweet posted by Syrian Electronic Army, it is offering 1,071,963 user-email-password dumped from Forbes’ user table.
