Viner Amanda Cerny’ Vine Account Hacked; Verification Badge Removed

Vine celebrity Amanda Cerny had her Vine account hacked by Saudi Arabia-based OurMine hackers.

Amanda Cerny, known for gaining massive social media following after winning the title of Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for 2011 has now been hacked. Yes, hackers from OurMine hacking group hacked Cerny’s official Vine account yesterday and defaced the Bio section with their own content.

OurMine also posted a couple of 7-second clips from her account informing that she has been hacked and for more information, she should check the bio section of per profile. Cerny has over 4.7 million followers on the Vine app which played a huge role in her popularity including signing up for several movies in Hollywood.

An important thing to notice about this news is that we suspect Vine removed verification badge from Cerny’s profile after it was hacked. Remember, just like Twitter and Facebook; Vine also provides celebrities with a verification badge but Cerny’s badge is gone. Cerny has a massive social media following that includes 467k followers on Twitter and 7.1 million followers on Instagram.

Who’s OurMine?

OurMine is the same group who has been hacking social media accounts of high-profile tech celebrities by using old passwords from LinkedIn and MySpace data dumps. In the past couple of months, OurMine took over accounts of Pokémon Go’s creator John HankeGoogle’s CEO Sundar PichaiTwitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey, Facebook’s CEO Mark ZuckerbergZach Klein, co-founder of video-sharing website Vimeo and Twitter account of WikiPedia founder Jimmy Wales.
