World’s First 5G Laptop ‘Project Limitless’ Unveiled At MWC 2019 Shanghai

The 5G era has clearly begun as more and more companies are introducing their 5G devices to the people. It’s not just smartphones, we are going to see 5G-powered laptops as well. Lenovo, too, has joined the bandwagon and has unveiled the world’s first 5G laptop, along with its first 5G smartphone.

Lenovo 5G Laptop

The first-ever 5G laptop is powered by the Qualcomm’s 7nm Snapdragon 8cx chipset clocked at 2.75GHz, along with Snapdragon X55 modem offering peak download speeds of up to 7Gbps. Additionally, the laptop comes with a 14-inch display.

The Snapdragon 8cx comes with an octa-core Kyro 495 CPU and Adreno 680 GPU. It launched by Qualcomm promote the newer breed of Always-Connected PCs. Recently, it managed to beat an Intel Core i5 chip in benchmark tests.

This means Project Limitless is also the first laptop powered by Snapdragon 8cx.

As a reminder, Lenovo and Qualcomm announced the prototype of the same laptop back at Computex 2019, called Project Limitless.

However, other details, including the price and availability details, remain unknown.

Lenovo Z6 Pro 5G

The company has also announced its first 5G smartphone called the Lenovo Z6 Pro 5G. It comes with a Snapdragon 855 processor with a Snapdragon X55 modem. With a transparent rear panel, the Lenovo Z6 Pro 5G sports a Full HD+ AMOLED display, a 4,000mah battery with 27W fast charging, and runs Android 9.0 Pie.

The smartphone’s cameras are its highlight; it has four rear cameras (48MP primary camera, 16MP wide-angle lens, 8MP 5x telephoto lens, 2MP depth sensor) and a 32MP front camera. Just like its non5G sibling, the device also comes with a sixth-gen in-display fingerprint scanner.

While the original Z6 Pro comes with four RAM/ROM variants, there is no word on the 5G variant’s RAM/ROM configurations. However, I assume it will come with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

Furthermore, there is no word on its price and availability.

Hence, stay tuned to Fossbytes for further updates.
