Xiaomi Mi 9 Specs Teased: Snapdragon 855, 48MP Camera And More

Xiaomi is soon bringing its high-end Mi 9 to life (February 20 to be precise) which has been making headlines for quite some time. The company has also dropped a few hints here and there, the most recent ones shedding light on its camera and other features.

According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun via a post on Weibo, the Mi 9 will come with three cameras at the back, rated at 48MP (Sony IMX596 sensor and a wide-angle lens), a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 16MP ultra wide-angle lens.

The front-facing camera will stand at 20MP with support for AI-based camera features.

The smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. The device, with a metal+glass build, is suggested to sport a water drop notched display based on a Samsung AMOLED display panel. The smartphone will have a screen-to-body ratio of 90.7%.

Additionally, the Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, multiple color options (Holographic illusion purple being one of them), and run Android Pie 9.0 based MIUI 10.

Furthermore, Xiaomi will launch the Mi 9 Transparent Edition, which will come with a massive 12GB of RAM, along with Alita: Battle Angel branding.

However, we still lack other substantial details. Xiaomi is expected to launch its Mi 9 at an event scheduled for February 20 in China.

So stay tuned for further updates.
