YouTube Music Arrives In India To Take On Spotify, JioSaavn And Others

Following Spotify’s long-awaited arrival in India, popular video-streaming platform YouTube has also introduced its music-streaming subsidiary – YouTube Music in the country.

The music streaming platform by YouTube provides a plethora of music options to the users in two variants: the free version with ad-support and the Premium version priced at Rs 99 per month.

However, as an introductory offer, YouTube Music will be available on a free three-month trial, (which is more than the 30-day free trial by Spotify) following which the users will be charged.

Additionally, the music service has a family subscription plan for Rs 149 per month which allows up to six family members to use the service simultaneously.

In addition to this, YouTube has unveiled the YouTube Premium for Rs 129 per month providing users with access to YouTube without adverts, YouTube Originals, as well as YouTube Music.

YouTube Music is available as a desktop version, as well as a standalone app for both Android and iOS users.

YouTube Music is in direct competition with Spotify,  JioSaavn, Gaana, Wync Music, and others in India. However, it seems to have a fair chance in the game due to YouTube’s large Indian user base.
