‘Rapper’ Elon Musk Just Dropped A Rap Song ‘RIP Harambe’

No, this isn’t an April Fools’ Day joke. Elon Musk has actually released a rap song on the tragically-killed gorilla ‘Harambe’ who became a popular meme later on.

He uploaded the autotuned rap song on SoundCloud this weekend under a fictional rap label “Emo G” (the name is too bad even for a fake label) and believes it could be his “finest work” to date.

It’s a two-minute track tribute to Harambe, the gorilla who was slained in the Cincinnati Zoo after it dragged a three-year-old boy who climbed into his cell in 2016.

“RIP Harambe/Sipping on some Bombay/We on our way to heaven/Amen, Amen,” raps Elon Musk in an autotuned voice. “RIP Harambe/Smoking on some strong/In the gorilla zoo/And we thinking about you.”

The song is a eulogy to the gorilla, and it imagines what Harambe would be doing now if he were still alive. After it was uploaded on Saturday, the song has been streamed over 758,000 times at the time of writing.

While Musk did not say much about the song in the announcement tweet, however, later on, he wrote, “I’m disappointed that my record label failed.”

In another bunch of tweets from Saturday and Sunday, Elon Musk seemed to partake in some sort of competition through emojis.

On Saturday, he tweeted a duck emoji without any text. This particular tweet received over 21,000 retweets and 182,000 likes for no reason.
