The 2020 Maruti Dzire has been launched with a facelift and a new BS6 petrol engine that gives a mileage of 25 km/l. The new Maruti Dzire facelift also comes with a host of new features, a bump in performance, a revised price tag and two brand new body color options. The starting price range for the Maruti Dzire is Rs. 5.89 lakh ex-showroom.
Maruti Dzire launched on 16th May 2017 with a complete redesign. The new facelift for the 2020 Dzire represents a mid-generation upgrade. However, Maruti has also thrown in a brand new engine upgrade in response to competition from recently updated Tata Tigor and the newly launched Hyundai Aura.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2020 Maruti Dzire Facelift
2020 Maruti Dzire Facelift Exterior
The new Maruti Dzire features no major changes to any exterior panel except the front section. In its top variant, the 2020 Dzire features a redesigned grille outlined in chrome. The fog lamp housing now also features grey stripes, which look pretty neat.
This concludes the list of exterior changes on the 2020 Maruti Dzire. You can also get the 2020 Maruti Dzire in silver and Phoenix Red color options.
2020 Maruti Dzire Engine Specs Changes
Perhaps the biggest change in the new Maruti Dzire is the new 1.2-liter Dual Jet VVT 4-cylinder petrol engine. The same engine is also used in the much more expensive Maruti Baleno with Smart Hybrid Vehicle System.
2020 Dzire also gets Maruti’s Stop-and-Go technology. In this technology, a lot of fuel is saved during bumper to bumper traffic. The car shuts off the engine whenever it is not moving and turns it on automatically when the user presses their foot on the clutch.
The new engine also has a higher compression ratio which increases its efficiency while improving performance. The new Dzire produces 89 HP and 113 Nm of torque, which is 7 HP more than the previous version.
The new Dzire delivers a fuel economy of up to 24 km/l, which is amazing for a sedan. There is no option for a new generation Dzire CNG yet.
However, we predict that the aftermarket CNG option will increase the fuel economy by 1.5 times. Meaning users can easily get over 32 km/kg of mileage upon running the car on CNG.
The interior of the Dzire facelift looks almost slightly refreshed. On the front dashboard, the car gets a new wooden strip along with a bigger 10.2-inch touch screen system.
Similar to other infotainment systems in Maruti cars, the new system can also be controlled via a mobile app.
The instrument cluster on the new Dzire also features a new design. The Multi-Information Display (MID) now supports multiple colors and not just black and white.
The information displayed is also laid out in a new format. The engine temperature is integrated into the RPM gauge and the fuel meter is present inside the speedometer.
In the 2020 Dzire facelift, the steering wheel features buttons on both sides and not just on the single side, as we see on Maruti Swift and the old Dzire.
