Honor Vision: Huawei’s First Smart TV With “HarmonyOS” & Pop-up Camera

After several discussions and speculations, Huawei finally unveiled its in-house operating system called HarmonyOS, which is supposed to ship with smart TVs and other smart devices. Now, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has released its first smart TV — the Honor Vision — with the OS and more exciting features.

Honor has unveiled the Honor Vision Smart TV, touted to be the world’s first smart screen TV at the 2019 HDC event.

Honor Vision Highlights

The Honor Vision smart TV runs the company’s first-party HarmonyOS and features a pop-up camera with AI camera capabilities.

For those who don’t know, the HarmonyOS by Huawei is a microkernel-based open-source operating system, which can work on a range of devices. Soon, HarmonyOS will reach out to more devices such as smartwatches, smart screens, in-vehicle systems, smart speakers, and even smartphones.

The smart TV comes with a triple-chipset setup that includes Honghu 818 Intelligent Chipset, AI Camera NPU Chipset, and Flagship-level Wi-Fi Chipset. The presence of three SoCs will ensure higher image processing, better multitasking, face recognition capabilities, and better Wi-Fi connectivity for enhanced video playbacks.

Honor Vision Specs

The Honor Vision smart TV comes with a 55-inch 4K HDR Full-View display with a screen-to-body ratio of 94%. With a 6.9mm full metal frame, the smart TV comes in two variants: 2GB RAM/16GB ROM version and 2GB RAM/32GB ROM Pro version.

Furthermore, the Honor Vision supports TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Mode, Magic-link function to use any smartphone or tablet as a remote control, HiLink open-source smart home connectivity, Family Note Function to transfer media between the TV and the smartphone within seconds, and NFC.

Honor Vision Price and Availability

The Honor Vision smart TV is priced at RMB 3,799 for the base model and RMB 4,799 for the Pro model. However, there is no word on its availability yet. Hence, we will keep you updated on this.
