Data Of PM Modi’s Website Compromised, Hacker Claims

The well-known French security researcher and hacker, who goes by the name of Elliot Alderson on Twitter, has claimed that the website of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been hacked. In the past, he has also highlighted the underlying security issue in Aadhaar app and database.

To prove that servers were being accessed without authorization, on Monday, Elliot tweeted a screenshot of a text file uploaded on the website’s server. “An anonymous source uploaded a txt file containing my name on your websites in realtime,” he wrote.

Here’s the complete tweet:

It’s worth noting that Elliot isn’t the one who hacked the servers; he simply claims in the tweet that he is willing to help.

Elliot also urged Narendra Modi to contact him for further details. In his next tweet, Elliot wrote that Mr. Modi’s team has contacted him and they’re taking measures to fix the issue.

He further informed that the issue was only affecting the staging subdomain, which means that the live version of the website wasn’t compromised. However, there wasn’t any comment on the data access.
