PUBG ‘Lite’ Beta For PCs Is Coming For Free To Take On Fortnite

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has launched a free-to-play and slimmed down version dubbed PUBG Lite for low-end PCs in a bid to challenge Fortnite.

With PUBG Lite, the video game developer aims to compete with Fortnite, its biggest rival. One of the reasons why Fortnite has turned into gen-z favorite video game despite being launched later than PUBG is its availability on all the platforms.

While PUBG offers a paid version of the game that can only be enjoyed on high-end PCs and gaming consoles, Fortnite can be played on any device.

According to the developers, PUBG Lite will be a standalone game as compared to the paid version of the popular video game. A dedicated developer team will develop the Lite version of the game and will have exclusive maps and features.

As of now, PUBG Lite will feature only the Erangel map with Solo/Duo and Squad modes available. The beta version of PUBG Lite has been launched in Thailand as of now to test the response of the audience and to work upon the plans of a global rollout.
