Redmi 48MP Camera Smartphone Official Images Released By Xiaomi

Xiaomi is expected to convert its Redmi series into a sub-brand with the launch of the first smartphone under the independent name at an event scheduled for January 10.

Among the various official and unofficial leaks, the latest image throws light at the official design of the upcoming smartphone. According to a post by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun via Weibo, the smartphone is expected to feature dual vertical cameras at the back, with a fingerprint sensor in the middle, and the ‘Redmi’ branding at the bottom.

The smartphone is expected to come in three color variants, two of them being magic color gradient options with both the rear and the front sides covered with 2.5D curved glass.

While the trend of dual-toned colors reaching Xiaomi smartphones could be a refreshment, the idea is reminiscent of the Huawei smartphones such as the Nova 3, which failed to impress me.

Furthermore, the post suggests that the images are not renders but real pictures of the to-be-launched smartphone as they were released by the company’s CEO.

Although other hardware specifications regarding the forthcoming smartphone are scarce, the device is most likely to sport a 48-megapixel rear camera. However, the configuration of the secondary snapper remains unknown.

Additionally, the smartphone is expected to be christened the Redmi X.

However, we need to wait until January 10 for in-depth details. So, stay tuned!
