Samsung Galaxy Event Roundup: Galaxy Fold, S10 Series & Wearables

Samsung kicked off its annual Galaxy Unpacked event at San Francisco, California today. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of its smartphone line, the company unveiled a bunch of new phones in its S10 series this year.

The event started with the much awaited foldable smartphone ‘Galaxy Fold’ followed by S10 series phones, namely, Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, S10e, and its 5G model.

In addition to the company also unveiled its wireless earphones Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Active Watch in the wearables section. Let’s take a closer look at all the devices Samsung is offering us now:

Samsung Galaxy Fold


After months of waiting, Samsung’s foldable smartphone is officially here. Even though the images and specs of Galaxy Fold were leaked hours ahead of its launch, the phone itself was worth the wait.

Samsung has done a pretty good job as far as the looks and hardware specification of Galaxy Fold is concerned. This foldable phone comes with a 4.6-inch display on the outside which can be unfolded into massive 7.3-inch Infinity-flex display.

The phone sports a total of six cameras with a triple camera setup at the back, two on the inside and one on the outside. Under the hood, it has 12GB RAM, 512GB onboard storage, and Qualcomm 7nm Octa-core processor.

It goes without saying that this premium phone comes at a premium price tag which is set at $1,980. Interested users can buy the Galaxy Fold April 26 onwards.

Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e


Samsung has launched three models in its S10 series and 5G variant as well. Starting with the Galaxy S10, which is the baseline model, comes with 6.1-inch Infinity-O AMOLED display minus the notch at a price of $900.

It is powered by an 8nm Exynos 9820 processor and comes in two RAM/ROM variants. The phone has an Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking and there are three cameras (12MP, 16MP, and 12MP) at the back along with a 10MP snapper with 4K UHD video recording at the front.


S10 Plus, on the other hand, has similar specs with the exception of a bigger screen, rated at 6.4-inch and dual selfie camera. It also has a bigger 4,100mAh battery and a whopping 12GB RAM/1TB ROM configuration with a price tag of $1,000.

The third variant, Galaxy S10E, sports a 5.8-inch Infinity-O AMOLED display and packs the same processor as its older siblings. It’s the budget S10 which is available at $750. The S10E carries two cameras at the back, rated at 12MP and 16MP and a single snapper at the front.

Samsung Galaxy S10 5G


In addition to the models mentioned above, Samsung has also launched a 5G variant of S10, dubbed the Galaxy S10 5G. This smartphone is 5G-ready and specifically made for faster network speeds.

It comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display and a massive 4,500mAh battery. Moreover, the Galaxy S10 5G sports a quad-camera setup at the back, and dual cameras at the front.

While the price and availability are yet to be mentioned, it will most likely be priced around $1000 and will be first made available to customers via Verizon network.

Galaxy Buds


Samsung unveiled its smart wearables with the Galaxy branding at the event. Introducing the Galaxy Bud, a competitor to Apple AirPods, features adaptive dual microphones for hassle-free calls at $129. These wireless earphones offer up to five hours of calls or six hours of music listening time when fully charging them once.

Galaxy Watch Active


Samsung has also announced a new line of fitness wearables at the Unpacked event with the Galaxy Watch Active smartwatch and the Galaxy Fit and Fit E sports bands.

The Galaxy Watch Active has a 1.1 inch, 360 x 360 AOD display, 230mAh battery and 768 MB of RAM. It is powered by Exynos 9110 processor and supports WPC-based wireless charging.

Another important feature is of the smartwatch is that it can monitor blood pressure in addition to heart rate. The Galaxy Watch Active can be purchased from March 8th onwards for $199.99.
